  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • Orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar until blended. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder and flour; mix gently until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  5. While cooling, whip together butter and powdered sugar for frosting; add orange food coloring until desired shade is reached.
  6. Once brownies have cooled completely, frost evenly and decorate with jack-o’-lantern faces using black icing or melted chocolate.
