Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons ice water
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough forms. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll chilled dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. In another bowl, combine cranberries with brown sugar and place in the center of the dough.
  5. Fold the edges over the cranberries, leaving the center exposed. Brush with egg wash if desired.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing.
