Profiteroles are elegant French pastries featuring a light, airy choux pastry filled with sweet whipped cream and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce.   • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream (whipped)
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat water and butter until melted. Add flour and sugar, mixing until a ball forms.
  3. Remove from heat, letting it cool slightly. Incorporate eggs one at a time until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pipe small mounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown; do not open the oven door while baking.
  6. While cooling, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and melt chocolate chips gently for the sauce.
  7. Once cooled, fill profiteroles with whipped cream and drizzle with warm chocolate sauce before serving.
