  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in melted butter and eggs. Gradually add sifted flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Transfer to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing ground poppy seeds with melted butter and sugar.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll tightly from one end.
  6. Place in a greased loaf pan seam-side down; let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
