Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe plums, halved and pitted
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar (1 tbsp sugar mixed with ½ tsp cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the plums by washing and halving them, removing the pits.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, egg, and salt. Gradually add water to form a soft dough; knead gently until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix ricotta cheese with additional sugar until well combined.
  4. Take a golf-ball-sized piece of dough, flatten it, place half a plum and 1 tsp of ricotta filling inside, fold the edges over and pinch to seal.
  5. Boil salted water in a large pot; drop in dumplings and cook until they float (about 8-10 minutes).
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and serve warm.
