  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups Maltesers, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans and line them with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the self-raising flour and cocoa powder in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time while mixing, then gradually pour in the whole milk.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped Maltesers and divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Whip the cream until soft peaks form and frost between layers and on top of cooled cakes. Garnish with whole Maltesers.
