Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (or other herbs)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil; stir to form a sticky dough.
  3. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about an hour until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough gently, then stretch it onto an oiled baking sheet. Dimple the surface with fingers.
  6. Let it rise again for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 425°F. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and rosemary, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
