Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture; whisk until smooth.
  4. Form the Dough: Pour wet ingredients into dry mix. Stir until combined and knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until slightly sticky.
  5. First Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Shape and Second Rise: Punch down dough, divide into equal pieces, roll into balls, place in greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again (about 30 minutes).
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter before serving.
