  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Colored sugar or icing (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit until bubbly (about 5 minutes). Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt; mix to form a sticky dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll tightly and shape into a circle on a baking sheet.
  5. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool slightly before decorating with colored sugar or icing.
