Turkish Asure, also known as Noah’s Pudding, is a delightful dessert that brings together chewy grains, sweet dried fruits, and crunchy nuts in a creamy blend.   • 1 cup wheat berries
  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • ½ cup dried apricots, chopped
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup walnuts or hazelnuts, chopped
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 cups almond milk (or regular milk)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the wheat berries under cold water and soak overnight.
  2. In a pot, boil 4 cups of water, add soaked wheat berries, and simmer until tender (about 1 hour).
  3. Stir in cooked chickpeas and simmer for another 10 minutes.
  4. Add chopped apricots, raisins, and cinnamon; mix well.
  5. Gradually stir in almond milk until creamy; simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve warm or chilled, topped with chopped nuts and extra cinnamon if desired.
