Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups short-grain sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
  • 4 oz sashimi-grade salmon or tuna, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • Soy sauce and wasabi for dipping

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions (typically 1 cup rice to 1 cup water). Allow cooling slightly.
  2. Slice the fish and vegetables into thin strips for easy rolling.
  3. Cut the nori sheets in half to create two squares per sheet.
  4. On one side of a nori square, place about ½ cup of sushi rice. Add your chosen fillings.
  5. Starting from the rice side, roll the nori into a cone shape while tucking in the fillings gently.
  6. Serve immediately with soy sauce and wasabi.
