Spanish Flan is a creamy, caramel-topped delight that melts in your mouth. This classic Spanish dessert features a rich custard base infused with vanilla, balanced by a luscious caramel layer.   • 1 cup granulated sugar (for flan mixture)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water. Stir until dissolved and boil without stirring until golden brown (8-10 minutes). Pour into an 8-inch round cake pan and set aside.
  2. Blend the flan mixture: In a blender, combine eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture: Carefully pour the blended flan over the cooled caramel in the prepared pan.
  4. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the filled pan in a larger roasting pan filled with hot water (water bath) and bake for about 50 minutes or until slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Cool: Allow cooling at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least four hours before unmolding.
