  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • For Frosting: 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Food coloring (pastel shades)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three round cake pans and line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
  5. Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
  6. For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until fluffy. Divide into bowls and tint with food coloring as desired.
  7. Layer cakes with frosting in between and decorate the top with swirls of colored frosting.
