  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (or flaxseed mixture for vegan option)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain pinto beans. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the beans with a fork or potato masher until chunky.
  3. Mix in breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, spices, and egg (or flaxseed mixture) until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into four medium-sized patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
