  2. In a bowl, combine cornflour, sea salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge each squid ring in the flour mixture until well coated, shaking off excess.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
  5. Fry squid rings in batches for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
